Here at Inkbox, our tattoos are semi-permanent. But what does that mean, and how does our product differ from the temporary tattoos we had as kids? Well, ours uses a completely new technology. It’s all about the ink and how it interacts with the skin. Here’s what’s up...
Did you know that semi-permanent is actually a term that’s commonly used in cosmetology? Similar to hair color, "temporary" just leaves the pigment on top and washes off. Whereas "semi permanent" allows the pigment/formula to sink in a bit and actually alters the color of your hair/skin. When applying Inkbox, our ink sinks into the top layer of skin, called the epidermis. Our fruit-based formula reacts with the organic compounds in your skin and actually alters its color to a dark blue or black. From there, the tattoo lasts 1-2 weeks, and fades away as your skin regenerates.
There are a few ways you can get inked with Inkbox. You can choose from over 4,000+ catalog designs, create your own tattoo on our custom platform, or use our Freehand Ink to draw on any design, however big or small.
Our stenciled tattoos take 15 minutes to apply, and develop over 24-36 hours. Check out the how-to apply video below to see for yourself!
For full creative flexibility, go with our Freehand Ink and unleash your inner artist. Freehand Ink comes in an ergonomically-designed bottle that allows you to draw anything you want onto your skin, however big or small. After drawing on your masterpiece, simply let the ink sit for one hour and then wash off with warm water! Like our other tattoos, the design will develop over 24-36 hours as our ink reacts with the skin. We've even got a ton of Freehand Ink accessories, as well as our Pro Kit to take your designs to the next level.
So, now you know what separates us from the shiny sticker tattoos we had as kids. As a tattoo that changes with you, Inkbox lets you be your boldest, most badass self, without committing to forever. Your body is a canvas, and now Inkbox can be the art.
