What does the inkbox logo REALLY mean?

Posted on

If you’ve been with us since the early days, you’re well-aware of the GLOW UP our branding has had. While the chunky inky octopus was cute for a while, back in November we decided it was time for something fresh. Something that better represented who we are now and where we're going. Our new logo is not only clean, simple, and just straight up cool, it also has a lot of hidden meaning behind it.

Ok so let’s get the basics out of the way. In the middle of our icon is a drop, meant to symbolize an ink drop. At first glance it may just appear that the ink is framed inside a three-dimensional box, hence ink-box. But, did you know that it can also be an ink drop outside of a box too?? Have another look and see for yourself. Mind. Blown.

Optical illusions aren’t everything though, and there’s actually an even deeper meaning to the icon! The other hidden symbolism has to do with the science behind our semi-permanent tattoos. The hexagon that frames the icon has correlation to the chemistry behind our product! In science, there’s a thing called “skeletal formulations” which is basically the fancy way of saying how to draw simplified molecules. The molecular structure of our active ingredient contains the same hexagonal structure featured in the inkbox logo.

At first glance, our written “inkbox” logo may appear to just be cut off at the bottom for stylistic reasons - but it’s so much more than that! The reason why we cut it off at the bottom is to give the effect of the words sinking, just as our ink sinks into your skin.

What do you think of our logo? Give us a shout on our Instagram and let us know!
